I watch my granddaughter about 4 days a week and we have so much fun! Yesterday, I bought this tube at CVS (a drugstore) for 50% off and she had no idea what to do with it! First she was afraid and ran in the other direction (on my lap)... Then I threw her little Dora doll in it and she crawled in and loved it! It is so much fun to see her excitement for the first time on things that we totally take advantage of.

Did I crawl in it...no, I'm to big...haha...I could get stuck in it! Now that would be funny. Imagine me rolling around the TV room floor stuck in the tube! Even I'm laughing at that thought!

Well, I'm off for another busy day! I hope it's a good one!

Hello Friends,

Happy New Year to you and your family and friends! Thank you for all your prayers for Penny's family and for my family. We miss Penny terribly but I know she is in a much better place now and no longer in pain. As my minister said, "it may have been to soon for us, but it wasn't too soon for Penny." That statement brought great comfort to my brother and I am glad for that. He is so heartbroken.

This is a beautiful (I'm bragging) picture of my Granddaughter. She is posing for my daughters friend's tutu company. Miss Allies Tutu's! She is the light in our family. For me, I would have had a dozen kids if I could have, but I couldn't so I'll have to spoil her! Don't worry, my older children are spoiled too!

Penny

Today, my sister-in-law, best friend, mother, sister, loving aunt and grandmother died unexpectedly of a complication to her cancer. This was totally unexpected. We thought we had more time and we even got good news yesterday that the cancer was not in her adrenal gland, only her lung and they thought they could operate. But God had another plan, he took to heaven today to be one of his angels.
My heart is so broken for her daughter whom Penny died in her arms, her loving husband, my brother, Billy and Julia and Meghan, their other two daughters.
As you can tell this is a very close family. My daughter and son were just with her last night and my daughter was very close to her. Her nickname was MomaPenny to her for as as long as I can remember.
Penny and I have been together since we were about 18 years old, I think I have mentioned that before..I introduced her to Billy and it was love at first sight!
I have lost a best friend but I have a lot of happy memories. I am so sad.
I just want to say thank you to everyone who put her on your prayer lists and who have prayed for her behalf. I am deeply grateful for all you have done.

When you blog, what do you look at?

Hello Friends!

Early evening last night I was sitting at my desk in my bedroom...(I closed down my office in the sun room because I am conserving on my heating bill!) and this is what I look at! It's my neighbors house. I love their house and what you can't see is the white candles in the windows and the beautiful wreaths with red bows. I find myself sometimes just staring out the window thinking about everything. My dog Ariel is very sick too. She is going to have to go to the vet's today. Ariel is 14 years old and we have had her since she is was a little puppy. I hope it is nothing serious.
Penny is still waiting for her pet scan to be scheduled. You know what's weird about this, it's only been two days since we found out, but it seems like a year. Strange. My kids said the same thing last night to me. This is probably because she has been sick for about five years now.

Well, today was a very sad day.

Penny was diagnosed with lung cancer today. I'm not sure what to say but tomorrow she is seeing a lung doctor then schedule her pet scan. If it is operable, they think they can remove it because it is pretty close to the service.

To see my daughter laying next to her on her bed tonight was heart breaking. Penny is like her second mother, my daughter has always called her Mommy Penny! Especially since we just lost our dear friend Cathy a little over a year ago of lung cancer and my daughter was very close to her too. So this is hard, real hard.

Sometimes I have to wonder why, I don't even know what to think. I do know, that I am very sad.

Please continue your prayers.

December 11 and I am nowhere ready for Christmas!

Hello friends,

Have you ever had one of those years when you just can't get motivated. I seem to be stuck. I have many gifts to buy still and I'm not worried, I'll get it done, hopefully by the end of the week!

Today was good day though. Penny is out of the hospital and is still very week and I would say she is not well at all, but you all know how we love to shop and today we went shopping to Home Goods. It was fun and just enough to get her out of the house and moving. Waiting for the results of the tests she had done is driving us nuts so a little shopping trip helped her. Penny was tied by the time we got home, but we did get some shopping done. We are very worried because the doctors are telling different things to her so we just have to wait for the results.

When we were driving home, she was a little weepy and I held her hand and tried to tell her that everything will be alright and to listen to her doctor that is is only an infection and not the others with a more aggressive diagnosis, but it's so hard and scary. My heart is hurting for her and her family. I wish I could just wave my magic wand and make her better.

Please keep Penny in your prayers.

This and That...

Today, Penny had her needle biopsy. The doctors decided not to to the brochoscopy because I think it is too hard for them and for her. So now the wait. They told her four days until the results. Her cancer doctor thinks that it still could be an infection of some kind, so we that is what we are praying for.

Now for the good news, my Mary Kay business has totally taken off! I am a Red Jacket and when I get my jacket in, I will take a picture of me in it! LOL This means that I am in car qualification too. Not the pink Cadillac, the first car. I will take the cash option when I make it!

Calling all prayer warriors

Dear Friends,

I am asking for prayers for my sister-in-law Penny. She has been in the hospital for several days now and on Monday she is going to have a bronchoscopy to rule out lung cancer. She has been fighting cancer to the tongue and tonsil for almost five years now and now she needs our prayers more than ever. She has been sick for about a month, maybe longer and getting progressively worse. The doctors are treating her for a severe infection in the lung but they want to rule out the worst. Let's pray that she has an infection and not cancer again. She has a capsuled nodule in her lower left left lung that is hard to read on the ct scans.

I know the power of pray will heal. I am praying for her and thanking you if you could do the same.

Another Angel made her way to heaven.

Dear Friends,
My dear friends daughter passed away silently in her sleep this past Wednesday. My bloggy friend, Laura, put it nicely to me. "Cathy was promoted to Glory". How true.
Cathy died during breast cancer awareness month, I can totally understand why there is so much about breast cancer, it doesn't hold back from anybody.
If you could, please keep Cathy and her family in your prayers.

Happy 81'st Birthday Mom...I love you!

It was my mother's birthday on October 4th. Normally we would have a big birthday celebration, she is 81 years old! However, she was in the hospital. She has had a bad ankle for about a month now, I had her to the doctors several times and took her to a specialist also. Nobody could figure out that it was cellulitis. Can you believe it! So by the time her birthday came around, she was so sick and in pain it wasn't good. So I took her to the hospital on Tuesday, her birthday..where they started IV antibiotics. She came home yesterday and is doing much better today. She even went to have a repeat mammogram done today and thank God, she is fine.

I think I'm going to start to meditate every day. I need to get some of my anxiety level down. OR maybe I should take a ride to the beach and just hang out there for a while, it is only about 1 1/2 hours from my house. That sounds like a good idea! Meditate on the beach!

Prayers are needed

Hello Friends, I am almost lost for words, but my friends of nearly 30 years have put their daughter into hospice the day before yesterday. She is 31 years old and has battled breast cancer for 5 years. I remember her when she was just a little girl playing soft ball with all of us. She then babysat my daughter and just got married to a great guy, four years ago (next week). They bought a house last year and she received a puppy this past Christmas. Our families have spent many vacations together and my heart breaks for them.
Please send lots of prayers to her and her family.
I am just so sad for them and I am praying myself for Gods comfort.

Penny Ellen Note Cards~

Hello Friends,
Remember last year when I started the Penny Ellen Card company? They have been selling well in the local stores but I never see them sell in person. Today, while I was at our church fair (in the rain, mind you), I had my cards with me, along side my Mary Kay...well, guess what was getting more attention, the cards! People loved them. Can you feel me smiling!
I sold quite a few of them too! Tomorrow, I am going to another fall fair and again, I'm going to have both items shown. If the cards sell again, like today, I am going to send them off to hospital gift shoppes. They are quite nice if I do say so myself! For my new followers, these cards are for my sister-in-law Penny. A wedding in the woods~

Hello Friends, I went to a great wedding this weekend that was held in this outside chapel. It was very cute and way out in the woods. I have never been here before, but it was a cute place to hold a wedding.

The benches were a little wet, I would have brought something to sit on, but that's OK, being a little wet never hurt anybody!

This is what I wanted to show you, they painted this tree and had everyone put their finger print on the tree as leaves. This was a great and unique idea. I have never seen this done by anyone else.

I left around 8:30PM and this is what the tree looked like when most people had stamped it. They had a box of wipes there too so that you could wipe your finger clean.

Well, we are getting ready for the baby's first birthday this week. She will be one on Thursday! I can't believe how fast this year went by.

Hello Friends,
I thought this would be fun to post! This is my cousin John cooking for Stove Top Hero on You Tube! The meal looks delicious!
Well, my big project is through! It was a crazy month during August and I am glad I can work out of the house again. That means I will be back to blogging and visiting my friends. I have missed all of you!
I also have to still mail Mrs. JP's prize. I will do that tomorrow morning. I have a medical test on Wednesday, but I am sure I will be fine...I will give you hint, it's not going to be fun :), but what tests are!
Well, I am just glad to be getting back to normal and that fall season is right around the corner.
I am going to decorate the house soon for fall. The summer flowers are all done. My pool area is a mess, so I'm going to cover the pool and call it a season!

I need your opinion on something.
I need to know if you think 9 and 10 year old children should be in the same youth group as children who are 12 and older.
I am having a discussion with my friend. In a local church in my community, they want to put 9 and 10 year olds in the same class as teenagers...
I know these kids are too old for pre-schoolers, that makes since. But it also makes since to me that they are too young to hang out with teenagers. I say, let 9 year olds be 9 years old. What's the rush...
What do you think?

This is a video of my son in the WOW bubble. They blow it up around him and he tries his hardest to walk in it!
Not very easy at all.

This is how it starts, he crawls in the ball...way to claustrophobic for me!

The man then blows the ball up with a leaf blower...I could have thought of that! LOL

Then presto! You can hear me being a Mom, very hot and he was exhausted! He stayed in for 10 minutes or so. A long time when it was about 100 degrees outside!

Would you be brave enough to do this! I know I would never :)

Grand Cayman

Hello!

I saw this plant yesterday hanging from this tree and I thought it was really different. I have never seen anything like this and there was nobody around to ask what kind of tree it is. If you notice, these are very strong branches and as my son suggested, it is something that Tarzan could swing on!

You can see how long some of them get and at the end of the plant are flowers.

You could swing from one tree to the other.

These are the flowers I was talking about. They had no fragrance to them.

Then, I saw this cute bug... my friend at home would LOVE this car.

I got close enough to see that these are all decals. I asked the owner if I could take pictures and HE didn't care. My son thought it must have been his girl friends car!!

As you can tell, I clearly loved this car!!

These are pictures of the outdoor mall. Very pretty and modern...

Children run through these fountains to stay cool.

I took this picture of the sail boat...if you look close it is made out of buttons and is selling for $350.00 CI, which is equivalent to 416.00 US. In Cayman, your $100.00US is worth $80.00CI..depending on the day and the value of the dollar.

This is the outside patio to a store at the mall. Everything was decorated just perfect!

I have never been to this mall, I tend to stay downtown in George Town, but it was well worth it!

Cayman if very small, you can get anywhere in minutes.

Welcome to Grand Cayman...

Hi friends,

My son and I are in Grand Cayman this week and we are having a good time. We met my ex down here so that my son can go diving. Lo and behold, I just got back from the medical clinic. Mario, my son, had bleeding in both ears. His last dive, his ears didn't equalize correctly and he was in so much pain...he looked the same when he broke his arm, that I took him to the clinic. So his diving is over for the week. Luckily for him, he should be able to fly home on Sunday!!

At first, my ex was mad about everything with me, but he has calmed down. He wanted my son to take a friend, but he didn't know who take, so I went! I feel better that way anyways...

The first day, it was a little rainy, but it is so beautiful here!

This is a photo from where I have my coffee on our deck. We have the ground floor unit this trip. We have time share here, so you never know which room you get! This week, hardly anyone is on the property, so we had a good choice!

This is the rainy season in Grand Cayman...

This is my most favorite store ever! It doesn't look like much, but she has the cutest items inside. Mostly local artists. When ever I buy something from her, it doesn't go in my house, being from New England. Over the years, I have made the kids bathroom into a Cayman oasis! It's very Caribbean like!

Considering our house is very primitive, New England style!!

Hi friends, as I sit in the airport and freezing, I went to buy a sweat shirt to keep warm and I said to the cashier I would like to wear this very expensive sweatshirt. Hehehe.
I then said I will take the tags off. I saw her bite the tag off. I thought that is the oddest behavior I have ever seen by a cashier...again only me would see this, so I buy it, sit down and put hand sanitized on her bite mark and now I'm nice and warm!!!!
That is a funny story...
